UM Eye Associates: Focus on Eyes

In partnership with Times Community Services, the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology will develop a community based telemedicine network in coordination with Penn Optical located in West Baltimore's Mondawmin Mall. A Topcon NW100 non-mydriatic camera will be linked to the Topcon system at the University of Maryland Ophthalmology Department where digital images can be read and evaluated by physicians. Images will be stored and transmitted via the internet. Free individual screening sessions will be held in conjunction with the University of Maryland Department of Ophthalmology to screen for diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma. Patients will not have to have their eyes dilated for this test.
